Aug 26 – South Indian Sweets 101
Where: Kitchen Rental NYC 306 W 51st St, New York, NY 10019
- Kerala-style Laddus
- Semiya Payasam
- The Perfect Cup of Tea
What better to do on a NYC summer Saturday than stuff your face with some classic Kerala sweets (desserts)?! Most people know the popular Indian sweet, Gulab Jamun (a North Indian special), but in this beginner-friendly class, we’ll go over South Indian classics like Kerala laddus (golden balls of joy), semiya payasam (aka the best one), and kozhukattas (a must-have on Palm Sunday). At the end of class, I’ll show you how to make the perfect cup of chaya (tea) so we can enjoy it along with our table of sweets and good company. We’ll be standing for most of the class so wear comfortable shoes and, if you have long hair, you might want to tie it up so it doesn’t get in your face. See you there!
